Be honest

Is this you?

If more than one of these hits, the issue probably is not effort. It is direction.

YES

You train hard but are not getting the results you expected.

YES

You are not sure if you are doing too much or too little.

YES

You watch YouTube videos trying to fix your technique.

YES

You wonder if your training actually makes sense.

YES

You are tired of plateauing.

YES

You want someone who actually knows your event guiding the process.

If you checked more than one, you are exactly who I built this coaching for.

What changes

Outcomes before mechanisms

You do not need another motivational post. You need a coach who knows what should change this week.

You know what to do each week instead of pulling random workouts.

Your sprinting, jumping, lifting, recovery, and meet weeks finally line up.

When your body or schedule changes, the plan changes with it.

You build toward the events that actually matter: 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, long jump, triple jump, and high jump.

Coach Josh Colley

Coach Josh Colley

King's College Sprints and Jumps Coach. Former Professional Long Jumper.

Coached by someone who has lived it

I know what it takes to break through a long jump plateau.

My own progression took me from 22'1" in high school to 23'9" in college, then to 26'3" as a post-collegiate professional long jumper. I know what it feels like to chase centimeters, rebuild a runway, and keep looking for the next breakthrough.

Now I coach sprinters and jumpers every day. If your hamstrings are beat up, the plan changes. If your runway rhythm falls apart, the priority changes. If your meet schedule shifts, the training shifts with it.

Athletes do not need more random drills. They need better coaching.

Why athletes plateau

Random workouts break when real life changes

Most athletes are not short on effort. They are short on a coordinated plan that changes when the season, body, or event demands it.

Generic plan

  • Same workouts regardless of event or meet schedule
  • No coach monitoring fatigue, soreness, or training results
  • Sprinting, jumping, lifting, and recovery are disconnected
  • The athlete has to decide what to change when progress stalls

JC Jumps coaching

  • Training built around your event, level, schedule, and goal
  • Weekly review and planned training adjustments
  • Video feedback tied to the next technical priority
  • A full progression from general preparation toward competition readiness

Coaching process

The JC Performance Cycle

Every athlete I coach moves through the same four stages. The details are built around you, your event, and your season.

01

Assess

I review your event, goals, schedule, facilities, training age, injury history, and competition calendar.

02

Build

Your early phase establishes speed, strength, power, work capacity, and technical foundations.

03

Adapt

Training results, readiness, feedback, and video give context for the next adjustment.

04

Peak

The plan moves toward event-specific work and meet readiness as key competitions approach.

FAQ

Before you get started

Is this just a workout plan?

No. This is individualized remote coaching. I review and adjust the plan around your event, schedule, feedback, and season.

Who is individualized coaching for?

Serious high school, collegiate, post-collegiate, and masters sprinters or jumpers who want me making the coaching decisions, not just handing them workouts.

What events does this cover?

60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, long jump, triple jump, and high jump.

How often is training adjusted?

Training is reviewed during a defined weekly review window, then adjusted based on results, readiness, feedback, and the season plan.

How does video review work?

Custom Plan athletes send me up to 2 videos a week. Individualized coaching and Scholarship Prep athletes get unlimited video review. I focus every review on the technical priority that matters most for your next block.

Do messages mean unlimited access?

No. You get direct messaging with me during normal coaching days, with strong support and reasonable coaching boundaries.

Ready for a plan with a coach behind it?

Find the right coaching option

Take the 2-minute fit check and I will tell you which option actually fits, even if the honest answer is the $49 community. If coaching is the match, your first call with me is free.

Find my coaching plan
Can parents apply for a high school athlete?

Yes. Parents can complete the fit check with the athlete's level, event group, timeline, and goals.

Is in-person training the main coaching option?

No. In-person work may exist separately, but this page is for individualized remote performance coaching.

What does coaching cost, and can I cancel?

Community training is $49 every 4 weeks. A Custom Plan is $150 per month. Individualized coaching is $300 per month. Scholarship Prep is $500 per month and only starts with a conversation with me. There is no contract, and you can cancel anytime.

What happens in the first week?

I start with an assessment: your training history, recent video, event priorities, and meet calendar. I build your first training week from that, and I start adjusting from week one.
